About Us



Janet obtained her BSN at Boston University and graduated in 1986. She has over thirty years of nursing experience which includes: cardiovascular intensive care, oncology surgical care, and cardiovascular progressive care. She is currently a Nurse Navigator for Genomics and Cardio Oncology at Advent Health Orlando..


In 2010 she was awarded Florida Hospital's Nursing Excellence in Leadership Award and was a finalist for Nursing Spectrum Excellence Awards in Advancing and Leading the Profession

Susan is originally from Lexington, Ohio. She received her Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Education from the University of South Florida and an ASN from the Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences. Currently Susan works with the AdventHealth Cardiovascular Institute as a nurse abstractor for thoracic surgery. Prior to accepting that position she was an Assistant Nurse Manager for Clinical Staff Development on the cardiothoracic surgical stepdown unit at the Orlando Campus where she focused on assisting the staff with critical thinking and high level skills performance.


Susan has received numerous awards highlighting nursing excellence, leadership, and mentoring. Combining her passions for education and resuscitation science, Susan has been teaching BLS, ACLS, First Aid, and StoptheBleed since 1998! Prior to becoming a nurse, Susan played the trumpet professionally and holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Bowling Green (OH) State University and Master of Performance from Northwestern University. This unique combination of career paths paved the way for her to excel at growing students to achieve their optimal level of performance while staying calm under pressure.
